Attitude and behavior required
just before and during the Great Tribulation
The great tribulation will be a tremendous day: “Woe to those who yearn for the day of Jehovah! What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean for you? It will be darkness, and not light” (Amos 5:18).
The King, Jesus Christ, the « man clothed in linen, with a secretary’s inkhorn at his waist », will judge for the survival or the destruction of human beings, in Tishri 10th, with the 6 angels destroyers, who represent the whole angels who will participate in the destruction in the Great Tribulation (Ezekiel 9:2; 1 Corinthians 10:10; Hebrews 11:28 « destroyer »). The fact that the 6 men stood at the foot of the altar of copper, is the confirmation that the selective destruction in the Great Tribulation, represents an atonement sacrifice of destruction. It will begin in the Temple Sanctuary, which means that selective destruction will start within the people of God (see also the prophecy of Amos 9: 8-10).
A moment of Lamentation
“It will serve as a lasting statute for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you should afflict yourselves, and you must not do any work, whether a native or a foreigner who is residing among you. 30 On this day atonement will be made for you, to declare you clean. You will be clean from all your sins before Jehovah. It is a sabbath of complete rest for you, and you should afflict yourselves. It is a lasting statute” (Leviticus 16:29-31).
According to the prophecy of Zechariah, in Tishri 10th, there will be a Lamentation inside the People of God, and according to what Jehovah asked during the start of the celebration of the Atonement Day, according to Leviticus 16: “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of favor and supplication, and they will look to the one whom they pierced, and they will wail over him as they would wail over an only son; and they will grieve bitterly over him as they would grieve over a firstborn son. In that day the wailing in Jerusalem will be great, like the wailing at Ha·dad·rimʹmon in the Plain of Me·gidʹdo” (Zechariah 12:10,11).
This corresponds very well with the prophecy of Ezekiel 9:4, which indirectly refers to Tishri 10th: “Jehovah said to him: “Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done in the city” (Ezekiel 9:4).
Those who have the mark of survival, the Great Crowd, will be those who “will grieve bitterly” about the death in atonement of Christ for the forgiveness of the sins, but also because of this bad system of things (Revelation 7:14 « These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb »). Before the celebration of the Atonement Day, the Israelites had to “wash their clothing » for to « sanctify » themselves before this sacred celebration (exodus 19:10, 14)).
The second reference to the prophecy of Zechariah 12:10,11, confirms that there will be an International Assembly of « the Mountain of Megiddo », seems to be the same as the one mentioned in Revelation (Revelation) 16:16. This is a situation of worldwide judgment that will take place, on the same day of affliction, and shortly before the (effective) Great Tribulation: Tishri 10th. And that the « the Mountain of Megiddo » seems to be exactly the same Assembly that in the “low plain of Jehoshaphat”, mentioned in the prophecy of Yoel 3: 2,3,9-12. The little “Mountain” of Megiddo is in fact in the “low plain of Megiddo”, in the continuation of the “low plain of Jehoshaphat”, that was the “low plain of Jezreel”, direction of the Great Sea (The Mediterranean Sea). It is logical to think that the « signal » of the son of man will be held this famous Tishri 10th, in this same situation of trial:
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:29,30).
This worldwide judgment will take place just before that the People of God, will come to the « inner rooms » (Isaiah 26:20): “Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. Two women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:40,41).
A time of fasting and sexual abstinence
According the Bible prophecy, Jehovah will ask his People to fast with sincere lament in Tishri 10th, until the end of the Great Tribulation:
“Sanctify a time of fasting. Call together a solemn assembly. Gather together [the] older men, all the inhabitants of the land, to the house of Jehovah YOUR God, and cry to Jehovah for aid” (Joel 1:14).
According to Bible prophecy, Jehovah will ask a sexual abstinence for the married couples, in Tishri 10th, until the end of the Great Tribulation:
“Let [the] bridegroom go forth from his interior room, and [the] bride from her nuptial chamber” (Joel 2:16b).
We can also say that there is a similarity between the recommendations of Joel 2: 15,16 and Isaiah 26:20:
“Blow a horn in Zion, O men. Sanctify a time of fasting. Call together a solemn assembly. 16 Gather [the] people together. Sanctify a congregation. Collect [the] old men together. Gather children and those sucking the breasts together. Let [the] bridegroom go forth from his interior room, and [the] bride from her nuptial chamber” (Joel 2:15,16).
“Go, my people, enter into your interior rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for but a moment until the denunciation passes over” (Isaiah 26:20).
So before and during the great tribulation, people and families will have to congregate in the « inner rooms » and not go out.
WHAT DO WE DO?
“The shrewd person sees the danger and conceals himself,
But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences”
(Proverbs 27:12)
As the Great Tribulation is near, « the danger »,
what to do to prepare ourselves, « to conceal ourselves »?
What do we do BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the Great Tribulation? This first part will be based on spiritual preparation BEFORE the Great Tribulation.
Spiritual preparation BEFORE the Great Tribulation
« And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved »
(Joel 2:32)
Jesus Christ pointed out, the most important commandment: The love for Jehovah God: « He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment » (Matthew 22: 37,38).
The love for God, is to recognize that He has a Name: Jehovah (YHWH) (Matthew 6: 9 « let your name be sanctified »).
This love for God means to have a good relationship with Him, through the prayer. Jesus Christ gave specific requirements regarding the prayer to God, in Matthew 6:
« Also, when you pray, do not act like the hypocrites, for they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the main streets to be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. When praying, do not say the same things over and over again as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. So do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need even before you ask him.
“You must pray, then, this way:“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth. Give us today our bread for this day; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses » (Matthew 6: 5-15).
Jehovah God wants us to have an EXCLUSIVE relationship with Him, that is, He does not want us to pray another « god »: « No; but I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons. You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons. Or ‘are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy’? We are not stronger than he is, are we?” (1 Corinthians 10: 20-22).
The second important commandment, according to Jesus Christ, is that we must love our neighbor: « The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets » To these two commandments all the law is suspended, as well as the Prophets » (Matthew 22: 39,40) and » By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves » (John 13:35). The love for God is through the love for our neighbor: Whoever does not love has not come to know God, because God is love » (1 John 4: 8).
If we love God, we will seek to please Him through good conduct: « He has told you, O man, what is good.
And what is Jehovah requiring of you? Only to exercise justice, to cherish loyalty, And to walk in modesty with your God! » (Micah 6:8).
If we love God, we will avoid a conduct that He disapproves: « Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom » (1 Corinthians 6: 9 , 10).
The love for God is to recognize that He has a Son, Jesus Christ. We must love him and have faith in his Sacrifice which allows the forgiveness of our sins by God. Jesus Christ is the only path to everlasting life and God wants us to recognize Him: « Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me » and « This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ » (John 14:6; 17:3).
The love for God is to recognize that He is guiding us through His Word the Bible. We must read it every day to know better God and his Son Jesus Christ. The Bible is our guide that God has given to us: « Your word is a lamp to my foot, And a light for my path » (Psalms 119: 105). A Bible Online is available on the site and some Bible references to better enjoy his advice (Matthew chapters 5-7: The sermon on the Mount, the book of Psalms, Proverbs, the four Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and many other biblical passages (2 Timothy 3: 16,17)).

Can we know?
« Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming »
(Matthew 24:42)
« Certainly unless you wake up, I will come as a thief, and you will not know at all at what hour I will come upon you »
(Apocalypse 3:3)
These two biblical quotes, show that it is advisable to answer, depending on the context. The answer of the first biblical quote, is that we cannot know the moment or the date of the Great Tribulation, while the second text suggests that this ignorance will not be permanent, so as not to be surprised.
Sometimes the Bible, in the same chapter, expresses the thesis and the antithesis of a situation: « Do not answer the stupid one according to his foolishness, so that you do not put yourself on his level. Answer the stupid one according to his foolishness, so that he does not think he is wise » (Proverbs 26:4,5). The verse 4 is a thesis that makes it clear, in certain situations, it is advisable not to respond to a stupid man, in order to avoid the snare of being discredited, by lowering oneself in the level of his stupidity. The verse 5 is an antithesis, which shows that in a different context, someone can be in the duty to respond to the stupid, in order to put him in front of his own foolishness. It is the insight, that makes it possible to understand the nuances of an answer to a situation, or to a specific question (Hebrews 5:14).
The different approaches to the question above are the following: in the current state of things, there is no certainty on a possible date. However, that does not mean that Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus Christ, will constantly leave us in this uncertainty: « For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets » (Amos 3:7). There are biblical teaching points that allow the date, to be fixed in a kind of year (which is currently not known with certainty): the Ethanim (Tishri), 10, and the kind of year, lunisolar year of 13 months (Apocalypse 11:19 (Tishri, 10); Ezékiel 39:14 (seven months of earth cleaning); 40:1,2 (Nisan, 10)). However, it is not enough.
In order to target this information, in a specific year, we must see the simultaneous fulfillment of prophecies that converge on this date and specific year. This is why there is no certainty. In doing so, the only way of observation is to use the biblical information, on the date and the kind of year, comparing with the observed fulfillment of the prophecies. By presenting a “landmark date”, without necessarily saying that it will be the date of the Day of Jehovah, it will be compared with the progress of the worldwide events, to understand the possible convergence with this day and specific year (the landmark date)… Here is the landmark date, that is to say the closest to biblical standards (understood):
Tishri, 10, 2026
Saturday evening, after the sunset in Jerusalem,
September 19, to Sunday, September 20, 2026
(New Astronomical Moon)
It has only a benchmark value (it will not be qualified as the date of the Day of Jehovah (great tribulation)), in order to proceed to the gradual observation of world events, with regard to both, of the biblical prophecies and this landmark date. Updates will be made when there will be significant global events. They will be announced on the home page of the site (as it is the case currently).
As for the Official Date of the Yom Kippur 2026, it will take place on the basis of the religious (or ecclesiastical) new moon (the new religious moon is based on the Chiourim calendar (French edition)), September 20, 2026 (one day late). Here is also the dates of the years 2024 and 2025, regarding the Ethanim (Tishri), 10, based on the new astronomical moon and the new religious moon (with 1 or 2 days late): Ethanim (Tishri),10, 2024: October 10/11, 2024 (new astronomical moon); October 11/12, 2024 (new religious moon). It should be noted that on the basis of the year 4026 BCE, a traditional date of the year of creation of the man Adam, the year starting with the autumn of 2024, to the autumn of 2025, will be jubilee and will represent the year 6050, of the existence of man on earth, according to the biblical chronology (Genesis 2:7). Ethanim (Tishri),10, 2025: September, 29/30, 2025 (new astronomical moon); October 1/2 2025 (new religious moon). The years, 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 will not be lunisolar. The year, 2026/2027 will be a lunisolar year (with the intercalary month of Veadar (or Adar II)).
The Biblical Purpose
« For the vision is yet for its appointed time, and it is rushing toward its end, and it will not lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it! For it will without fail come true. It will not be late! »
(Habakkuk 2: 3)
This text is especially written for the « shepherds » of the different Christian congregations, or Christian churches, but also for the believers of other non-Christian religions
The purpose of this biblical website is to encourage the readers to continue to « keep in expectation » for Jehovah’s Day. It is important to federate our sincere efforts, beyond the differences of Christian religious opinions, to prepare us for this Day. As it is written in Amos 5:18 (Bible): « Woe to those who yearn for the day of Jehovah! » Why ? « What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean for you? It will be darkness, and not light ». Yes, this Day is to be feared (Zephaniah 1:14-18).
Nevertheless, we must have a courageous and positive attitude. In the book of Habakkuk, it is written about the « Jehovah’s Day expectation » like the « watchman » who looks towards the horizon. Jesus Christ took up this image of the watchman « keeping on the watch »: « Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming » (Matthew 24:42; 25:13). The glorified King Jesus Christ, in the book of Revelation, made it clear that the lack of vigilance would be fatal: « Therefore, continue mindful of how you have received and how you heard, and go on keeping it, and repent. Certainly unless you wake up, I will come as a thief, and you will not know at all at what hour I will come upon you » (Revelation 3: 3).
There is enough biblical information that allows us to be prepared and to understand in due time, the « hour » of the coming of King Jesus Christ, without being surprised, according to Revelation 3:3. The biblical study of the current fulfillment of the prophecies helps us to understand that this Day is « rushing toward its end ». We must consider this expectation as an expression of God’s patience: « Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance » (2 Peter 3:9).
Yes, this expectation of the watchman is a blessing in view of life, for us, our family, friends and neighbor. It is important to understand what will represent this preparation BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the Great Tribulation. If Jehovah God made these instructions written by men in the Bible, it is to use them in view of this preparation.
Jehovah God made the blessings of the Kingdom written by men in the Bible to encourage us. We can understand when the healing of the diseases, disabilities and rejuvenation so desired, will take place. We can understand how the administration of the earthly resurrections will be managed: the welcome of the earthly resurrected ones and the administration of the allotted places. We can understand the administration of the Kingdom of God on Earth by the future earthly princes and priests. Yes, all these blessings are written in the Bible to encourage us, to strengthen our faith. This biblical knowledge is from Jehovah, and from Jesus Christ, because it is written in the Bible: « For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, so that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ » (1 Corinthians 2:16).
You can freely use this biblical knowledge, not only for your own faith, also for your family, your friends and neighbor (Preach The Good News). If you are a religious leader, a shepherd, a pastor or a priest, do not hesitate to use this biblical teaching to strengthen the faith of the « sheep » under your responsibility: to teach them how to come out the great tribulation but also how to have the everlasting life and the blessings of the Kingdom of God: « God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away » (Revelation 21: 3,4, Matthew 10: 8b, John 21: 15-17). May Jehovah God bless the pure in hearts through Christ. Amen (John 13:10).
